Rider Biomechanics
Rider biomechanics is the study of the motion necessary in a rider's body so that they can stabilize themselves to move with, and then influence the horse’s movement. The result is two bodies working together in harmony, rather than working independently of each other in opposition.
A rider with a strong core, who is well stabilized can deliver clear and ethical aids. The horse will mirror how the rider moves and administers aids. The horse is an extremely perceptive animal, and is made to feel the movement of the herd or different stimulus in it’s environment almost instantly. For this reason, it is vital that the human is aware of what they are thinking and doing, whether that's in the saddle or on the ground, so that they can effectively influence the horse at any given moment. This physical control requires the human to able to control their mind first so that they can then control their body which allows them to seamlessly influence their horse. In this short course you will learn exercises that will help you become a more stable rider, and learn how a simple weight shift can direct your horse.
